Maintenance:
Well-designed and well-built trails help to minimize the amount of ongoing maintenance needed. Many existing trails are not sustainably built or designed and can benefit from rerouting segments, re-establishing trail tread out-slope, and contouring drainage dips. All trails occasionally need saw work following storm damage, brushing back years of tree and shrub regeneration, and annual mowing of tall grass. Often these maintenance activities are required at differing time intervals to meet trail user expectations. We can help address all your maintenance needs, including the timing of maintenance to optimize user experience and the end result.
Management:
Proper project planning and sustainable construction can lessen the amount of management required, but management can never be eliminated. Being proactive and managing the use before the use consumes the land is the approach needed to ensure long term sustainability. We can help with management plans that use key performance indicators to assist in evaluating use and provide the needed direction to be preserve the benefits that generated the desire to build the trail in the first place.
